📝 Ingredients (for 6 eggs / 12 halves)
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Paprika (for color)
- 6–12 black olives (for stripes and eyes)
- 6 small pieces of carrot or bell pepper (for wings)
🥣 Equipment
- Saucepan
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon or piping bag
- Knife
- Cutting board
🥚 Step-by-Step Instructions
1️⃣ Boil the Eggs
- Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, turn off heat and cover the pan.
- Let sit 10–12 minutes.
- Drain and cool in ice water (or cold tap water).
- Peel the eggs carefully.
2️⃣ Prepare the Filling
- Slice eggs in half lengthwise.
- Remove yolks and place in a mixing bowl.
- Mash yolks with a fork.
- Add mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until smooth and creamy.
Tip: For extra fun, add a tiny pinch of paprika to give a warm yellow tint, like a bee’s body.
3️⃣ Fill the Egg Whites
- Use a spoon or piping bag to fill the hollowed egg whites with the yolk mixture.
- Shape the filling slightly into a rounded mound — this will be the bee’s body.
4️⃣ Make the Bee Details
- Stripes: Slice black olives into thin rings or small strips and place across the yolk mixture to create bee stripes.
- Eyes: Use small olive pieces on the “head” of the egg.
- Wings: Insert small thin slices of carrot, bell pepper, or even cucumber at the top of the egg to form wings.
Optional: Sprinkle a tiny pinch of paprika for extra color.
5️⃣ Serve
- Arrange on a platter.
- Chill for 10–15 minutes before serving if desired.
- Watch your kids’ faces light up — cute, tasty, and healthy!
