Ingredients:
• 3–4 fresh kiwis
• 2 cups of water
• 1 teaspoon of salt
Instructions:
1. Start by peeling the kiwis if you prefer, then slice them into round pieces or halves. You can also keep the skin on if you just want to clean the outside before cutting.
2. Place the kiwi slices in a bowl.
3. Add about 2 cups of water to the bowl so the fruit is fully covered.
4. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and gently stir the water until the salt dissolves.
5. Let the kiwi soak in the salt water for about 5–10 minutes. This soaking process can help remove small insects, dirt, or residue that might be on the fruit.
6. After soaking, remove the kiwi slices and rinse them well under clean running water to wash away the salt and any remaining particles.
7. Your kiwi is now ready to eat, add to fruit salads, smoothies, or desserts.
Tip:
Many people use the salt-water soaking method to help clean fruits like berries, grapes, or kiwis because the salt can encourage tiny insects or debris to detach from the fruit’s surface. Always rinse the fruit well afterward for the best taste and cleanliness.
