These homemade pancakes are soft, light, and golden on the outside with a fluffy texture inside. Made with simple pantry ingredients like flour, milk, sugar, and baking powder, they come together quickly and cook perfectly in a pan. They are ideal for breakfast or a sweet snack and can be served with honey, butter, syrup, or fresh fruit.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
Butter or oil for cooking
Preparation Method
1. Prepare the batter
In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients together until well combined.
2. Add the liquid ingredients
Pour in the milk, add the vanilla extract, and the melted butter or margarine.
3. Mix the batter
Stir everything together using a spoon or whisk until you obtain a smooth, slightly thick batter. It should be pourable but not too runny.
4. Heat the pan
Place a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with a little butter or oil.
5. Cook the pancakes
Pour a small ladle of batter into the pan to form a pancake.
Cook for about 1–2 minutes until small bubbles appear on the surface.
6. Flip and finish cooking
Turn the pancake over and cook the other side for another 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
7. Repeat
Continue the same process with the remaining batter until all pancakes are cooked.
