1️⃣ Homemade Powdered Milk (Dry Milk Powder)

  • Whole milk (any amount)

Steps:

  1. Pour milk into a wide pan or baking sheet.
  2. Heat in a dehydrator or oven at lowest temp (140–170°F / 60–75°C).
  3. Dry until completely brittle, 8–12 hours depending on thickness.
  4. Break into flakes and blend into a fine powder.
  5. Store airtight.

Notes:
This dissolves well in hot liquids, works beautifully in doughs, frostings, and mixes.

2️⃣ Homemade Powdered / Confectioners’ Sugar

  • Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch per cup (optional, prevents clumping)

Steps:

  1. Blend sugar in a high‑speed blender until fluffy.
  2. Add cornstarch if you want it to behave like store‑bought.
  3. Sift for ultra‑fine texture.

3️⃣ Homemade Cocoa Powder

  • Roasted cacao nibs

Steps:

  1. Roast nibs at 250°F (120°C) for 10–15 min to dry them.
  2. Grind in a spice grinder until fine.
  3. Sift.
  4. Repeat grinding + sifting until powdery.

4️⃣ Homemade Coconut Milk Powder

  • Full‑fat coconut milk
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp tapioca starch per cup (helps powder)

Steps:

  1. Spread coconut milk thinly on a silicone mat.
  2. Dehydrate at 135°F (57°C)until completely dry.
  3. Break into pieces and blend into powder.
  4. Add tapioca starch if you want it to dissolve better.

5️⃣ Homemade Cheese Powder

  • Cheddar, parmesan, or any hard cheese
  • Optional: 1–2 tsp cornstarch per cup (anti‑caking)

Steps:

  1. Grate cheese finely.
  2. Dehydrate at 135°F (57°C) until completely brittle.
  3. Blend into a powder.
  4. Add cornstarch if you want it to stay loose.

Notes:

  • Works best with parmesan or sharp cheddar.
  • Use in popcorn seasoning, savory mixes, doughs, sauces.
